Electro Impulse Lab, Inc. (Manufacturing)
Ecco Corp.’s Sales Engineer, Bruce Crowley, introduced us to Electro Impulse Lab, Inc., a leading manufacturer of custom and standard cooling equipment. Based in Neptune, NJ, and established in 1949, Electro Impulse serves industries like military aerospace, MRI, and X-ray equipment manufacturing, along with other sectors requiring advanced cooling solutions.
Electro Impulse integrates Beach Filters compressed air filters extensively into its cooling units, which often use Coolanol or polyalphaolefin oils as heat transfer media. These oils are hygroscopic, meaning they absorb moisture, which can deteriorate the equipment’s performance. Excess moisture can compromise equipment, especially in environments with high-voltage or radio frequency energy fields, where maintaining the dielectric strength of the cooling oils is critical.
To prevent moisture buildup, Beach Filters are used in the vacuum relief lines of Electro Impulse’s cooling unit reservoirs. These filters effectively remove moisture and particulates from the air entering through the relief valve, creating a dry air barrier that prevents the cooling oils from becoming water-saturated. This step is crucial for maintaining efficient heat transfer and protecting sensitive equipment.
Jim Burgess, a representative of Electro Impulse, emphasized the importance of Beach Filters in their operations. “We have been using Beach Filters for many years. They are critical to the proper functioning of our equipment and pay for themselves quickly by reducing the frequency of desiccant and particulate filter replacements in the cooling oil system.” This approach extends equipment life and ensures reliable cooling system performance across sensitive applications.
By utilizing Beach Filters, Electro Impulse maximizes efficiency and longevity, making them an integral part of their cooling solutions in demanding industries.
